The Promise of New Life

Many of the Jewish people were scattered abroad. Some were in captivity in Babylon. Ezekiel has a vision where the Lord showed him the sinfulness of the people. Their sin, mainly idolatry caused them to be where they were. God promised to gather His people and return them to the land. He wanted them to put away all their detestable things, so they may walk in His statutes and keep His ordinances; They would be His people and He would be their God.

How do you feel about obeying God's commandments? Are you serving other gods? If we serve Him, will He be our God?

Other gods do not have to be Budda or Ali Babba. For those of us that allow the TV to control when we can go out of the house, the TV is the god. For those of us that allow the WORKPLACE to keep us from worship and time with God, have substitued it as god. As creatures of comfort it is easy to be caught in the day to day. We must recall that we were made in His image for a divine purpose.
