The Way of New Life

Paul used the image of adoption into a family to describe the community of believers, in the lesson for May 3, 2009, "The Spiritual Family," (Ephesians 1:3-14). God chose Christians to be God's children through God the Son. It is all possible beacuse of God's son, Jesus Christ. An adopted child has the same legal rights as any other member of the family. However, some states require a child to live in the home a certain period of time before the adoption is final. With God, the adoption is final the moment we confess our sins and accept His beloved Son. From that point we become part of His inheritance. Jesus Christ called Paul to proclaim the message of salvation to the world. We have been predestined for a purpose, we must praise God and carryout His will when He calls us. Can you feel the wonder of God's power and His love for us that He would give His only Son that we might be redeemed and have the Holy Spirit dwell in us?
