Called Out of Egypt

As we continue our discussion of the Israelites exit from Egypt, we see God at work. We see the resistance of Pharaoh to let the Israelites leave. Read about the plagues in Exodus 7-11. Sunday's lesson "Finding and Giving Protection," Exodus 14: 15-25, 30, illustrates the hard heartiness of Pharaoh and the Egyptians and the fear of the Hebrew peoples and teaches the Israelites, the Egyptians and us that the angel of the Lord will be with you. God illuminated His true power when He had Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea and He caused a strong wind to divide the water and the sea to become dry land. He delivered the Israelites from their oppressor and He will deliver us from unpleasant circumstances, as well. The lesson begins with Moses crying to God, so God gave him two commands: speak to the people and stretch out your hand. You have all you need, GOD, although sometimes we forget and get fearful in bleak situations. We must not allow fear to immobilize, torment or paralyze us, it is a signal to alert us to potential danger and teaches us to depend more on God. Have faith in God.
