The New Covenant Community

We are "A Chosen People," the title for the November 8, 2009, Sunday school lessons, from 1 Peter 2: 1-10, because we share the common experience of redemption from sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is God's mercy that allows a sinner to become a part of His holy priesthood. Christ is the head; He elected us; He redeemed us. We have salvation and eternal life because of Him. As His elected people we have certain responsibilities. We must "get rid of" or "put away" all malice, guiles, hypocrisies, envies, and evil speakings (1Peter 2:1). Instead of concentrating on the before mentioned behaviors which will disrupt our fellowship with God and our brothers and sisters, we should desire the Word, that will contribute to our growth and a personal relationship with Christ. He is the "living stone", the "corner stone" and the "head stone."
